After School Boy Blazer

I decided to have a change from my usual (and much loved) neutral nail shades and went for something at the complete opposite end of the spectrum, a blue black.  I bought this Essie shade last winter and was very dubious but after trying it again today I love it.

I think it is very difficult if you are a neutral lover to get used to dark nails and likewise if you love bright and colourful nails to look down and see a natural, pale nail but sometimes it's good for a change and Essie is a great brand to make that change with. I don't own many Essie shades largely due to the fact that they are a little bit expensive but boy are they good. The colour goes on super easy and the lasting power is better than most other brands I wear. It does make the price tag seem worth it and I am definitely going to get myself some more shades!

After School Boy Blazer is a great winter shade and looks really lovely on, if you are looking for  a very dark nail colour that's not as harsh as black I would definitely recommend this shade! Are you a fan of Essie nail polish? What is your favourite winter nail colour?

Christmas Wish List

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...and I AM SO EXCITED! Apologies for my little outburst but I love Christmas and whenever it gets to this time of year I struggle to focus on anything except Christmas. Yes I am that much of a child and I still get that excited, please tell me you're the same? Or at least know someone that is?

In the spirit of Christmas I thought I would share some of the bits and bobs that are on my Christmas wishlist, hopefully it might give you guys some inspiration of things you would like or even things to buy your friends and family! I must admit as much as I like writing a list every year I MUCH prefer buying presents for my nearest and dearest, don't even get me started on the wrapping, I add all the bells and whistles.

Back to this list...I am really into my home items at the minute and believe it or not one thing we do not have (and haven't had for over 6 months) is a blanket. I am obsessed with H&M home and this blanket is the perfect match for the grey and yellow colour scheme we have in our bedroom. Along this same theme is a Jo Malone candle, lovely smelling and pretty to look at, what's not to love? The cape trend is everywhere at the moment and this Topshop one has to be my favourite and this Burberry Lipstick is the perfect red shade. A notebook is essential to record all those New Years Resolutions and when I saw this gorgeous Zara bag I just couldn't resist it. Oh and who could forget a pair of 'My Calvins' after all the press they have been getting recently.

Those are just a few bits that I am hoping to find under my Christmas tree this year, I hope this has given you a bit of inspiration! If you liked this post do let me know and I will do a few more 'gift guide' types of post, and let me know what is on your Christmas list. There's still time for me to add to mine!

'Millies' Cookies

If you have been reading my blog for awhile now you will have noticed that my childhood baking bug has well and truly come back, so much so that my last post and this post are all about baked goodies...I hope you don't mind! My latest baking venture was these delicious (if I do say so myself) cookies that taste just like the much loved Millies Cookies and are incredibly easy to bake.

Ingredients

126g butter
100g light brown soft sugar
125g cater sugar
1 egg, lightly beaten
1 tsp vanilla extract
225g self-raising flour
1/2 tp salt
200g chocolate chips

1. Preheat the oven to 180C.
2. Mix the butter and sugars together, once they are a creamy texture add the lightly beaten egg and vanilla extract.
3. Mix in the flour and salt, once combined add in the chocolate chips. I used a spatula to fold in the chocolate chips.
4. Roll the mixture into walnut sized balls, as evenly sized as you can make them
5. Place onto ungreased baking paper (pictured). Cook for 7-10 minutes or until lightly golden around the edges.
6. Once removed from the oven leave to harden for a minute before moving them to a wire rack to cool completely.

So there you have it, some super quick super easy totally yummy cookies! As always if you do bake these make sure you share a picture with me on Twitter @luxrosee . If there is anything you would like me to bake over the next couple of weeks let me know in the comments, I'd love some inspiration!
