London Break

I recently made a last minute trip to London and it has to be one of the best that I have had. Do you ever find that the nights/days/trips without plans are some of the best? I apologise for the quality of these photos, they aren't the greatest as I forgot my camera so they were took on my phone. We visited Portobello Market where I found my dream home, rows and rows of pastel coloured houses was just a dream and we saw Matilda which was incredible. Trunchbull was by far my favourite...

Oh and before I go, how had I never tried Shake Shack before? It.Is.Amazing. I just wish I didn't have to wait so long for my next one! I hope you liked this post, what do you like to do when you visit London?

Home Haul

I have talked about my recent move (which was actually 5 months ago) in a few of my posts but I hadn't shared anything with you. I am a perfectionist and I am still not 100% happy yet finished but I thought it was about time I shared some of the bits that I am happy with. My boyfriend lovingly turned the second bedroom into a wardrobe and suprise suprise this is my favourite room in the house. If you are interested I will do a full post on my wardrobe, I couldn't fit it all in in one picture!

I am a little bit obsessed with H&M home, they have some amazing pieces and at such amazing prices! It's just a shame that they don't have a shop anywhere near me *sob*. My 'I Swear On My Chanel' print is from Sealoe Shop, I let our a little squeal when I found this website. Seriously just go and look it is perfect if you love minimalist monochrome like me! Hope you like these pictures. Where do you guys like to shop for your homeware? I would love some new places to browse and maybe, most possibly buy!

30 Day Shred

I want to start by saying that I have never been a fan of fitness DVDS. If I'm being completely honest I always thought they were someone’s way of saying they 'worked out’ when in actual fact they pranced about to little effect. Sorry, sorry I know this is incredibly rude of me and for that I apologise but I don't think the multitude of celebrity yo-yo dieter’s videos helped my pre conception, do you?

Then I came across Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred DVD, I read an amazing review and with one click (Amazon) my very first fitness DVD was on its way to me. I am only going to say one thing about the 30 Day Shred it is AMAZING and WORKS WONDERS. All the exercise I have done over the years has had no effect until this. Throw in a gorgeous sports bra, there's nothing wrong with a little incentive, and working out can be, almost, fun.

If you do what a little more information about this DVD read on for a quick break down. The 30 Day Shred is a 20 minute workout, yes 20 minutes. I have used it as both a 30 day solid work out in preparation for a holiday and as an every other day, keep my fitness levels up, work out.  Either way it works. There are three stages that get progressively harder each including three sets of 3 minutes strength, 2 minutes cardio, 1 minute abs, and that's it. I'm not going to lie it is hard, very hard but it is so worth it.

I hope I have inspired you, just a little bit. Do you have a favourite fitness DVD? Please recommend any you use, I am on the look out for my next fix.

Bikini Season

With my holiday just around the corner I felt it was time to add to my bikini collection. Unfortunately for me the bikini offering on the high street left me feeling rather disappointed. I'm not sure whether it was the patterns or the style but none of them 'jumped out at me'. So I headed to ASOS and I found these two beauties, in the sale!

As is usually the case with sales only half of the rose ombre bikini was available in my size so I have improvised with these crochet bikini pants that I already own. To be honest I really like this mix and match look, so I didn't mind! What do you think? This bikini top was £6, crazy i know!

I was lucky with the green bikini has they had both pieces in my size! It took me awhile to work out how the top actually went on, believe me it is slightly confusing but it is one of the most comfiest and flattering bikinis I have ever owned and for £11 you really can't go wrong! It will also look amazing against a summer tan.

When I went back to ASOS to get the links for these bikinis they seem to have added more sizes so if you like either of them your in luck! Which is your favourite? Where do you like to shop for bikinis?

I have gone print mad. Ever seen I bought the 'I swear on my chanel' print from sealo shop (here), I can't stop lusting after every print I see. If it's black and white, even better.

Me and my partner moved into a new place about five months ago and ever since then I have been wanting to do a series of home posts but, I am a typical virgo and I am perfectionist. Five months later and I am still not satisfied, little by little we are getting there but in my own head there is still a lot that needs to be done. Maybe that's because all I can think about is prints!? Above are just a selection of the ones that I LOVE, I can even picture where they will all go! Like the pineapple print would look just perfect in my bathroom.

How many prints do you think is acceptable to have in one house? Please help me narrow my options and let me know which is your favourite!

Summer Body

It's that time of year when everywhere you look 'SUMMER BEACH BODY' is screaming out at you From my Instagram feed littered with images accompanied by #summerbod, #bikinibody, #fitspo, #thinspiration (this deserves it's very own discussion) to the magazines that line our supermarket shelves and promise you perfect abs, just two weeks before your holiday. Getting the perfect bikini body is top of everybody’s list right now and with my summer holiday just around the corner I couldn't think of a better time to write this post.

Please don't misinterpret this, (can I call it an article?), as me getting on my high horse and admonishing any and all that strive for the 'perfect body'. I myself am incredibly guilty of this. Every year summer comes around and I find myself reaching for every magazine available and scrolling through endless 'get fit quick' websites, going on crazy fad diets, all in the aim of looking like a Victoria's Secret model on the beach. I have to ask myself, why did I ever think this was going to happen? Why did I think that by starving myself for two weeks (in reality I couldn't even last a day), and doing feeble workouts would give me the body that I so desperately wanted? Again I just want to reiterate that I am not trying to make anyone out there feel bad about themselves or what they I do, I am just trying to explain the journey that I have been on in the hope that some of you can relate.

In the end what did it for me, what stopped be continuing this useless cycle that still resulted in me going on my holidays feeling less than comfortable was, believe it or not, getting a full time job. I graduated from university in May 2013 and I started my first 'proper' job on 25th September 2013. As much as I love my job, I am sat at a desk for the majority of the day with an hour commute morning and night. It was after my first month I decided that I needed to get healthy. Not thin, healthy. I went back to the basics, eating healthily 80% of the time and exercising at least three times a week, I told myself that these are not outlandish targets and quite frankly, to stop being lazy.

I am no expert and I have never claimed to be, all I would say is that taking my time and not setting myself ridiculous deadlines has worked. With two weeks to go, yes I have upped my exercising and I am trying to be healthy 90% of the time but with the foundations already in place it isn't an impossible task. I can sit here as I write this, eating chocolate orange and not feel guilty. I truly hope this doesn't sound preachy, I hope it inspires you to stop being so hard on yourself and to cut yourself some slack. Find what works for you with realistic deadlines and you will see the benefits and you will have to body that you want and deserve.

I would love to know if you enjoyed this post, please let me know below and if you would like to know more about my how I try to stay healthy, leave me a comment!
